I simply love this dish; this is a good appetizer for me. My older brother used to prepare this dish for me. I tried to make it but I failed to achieve my brother's standards. I just wished that I asked his secret of his chowder before he left. But I think it has something to do with the type of corn that I should use.

I demand more recipes. The only reason anyone thinks I can cook is because of you. ;-)

As a native of New Jersey, I take issue with the claim about Midwestern corn. While NJ is arguably neither New England nor Mid Atlantic, the corn and tomatoes grown there are among the most coveted. Jersey sweet corn is fantastic. Is that what you're getting at Mt P's farmers market? probably not. But, I'd take NJ corn over most Midwestern corn any day given the statistically good chance that corn from the midwest is grown in huge lots fed by pesticide and synthetic fertilizer.

On a way more positive note, I found your site via DCist and am an amateur cook (read: suburban kid never taught about cooking and now trying to learn), and I'm going to try this corn chowder soon!

Thanks!
