I just sort of "stumbled upon" this - I'm not a big fan of beer bread, but I love Young's Chocolate Stout, and figured I'd try it. I used dried cherries - EXCELLENT! Not bitter, not too sweet, very flavorful - Simple to make, and so very satisfying. Butter a slice (or two) and indulge. Thanks for posting this.

3 quarts seems like an awful lot of fruit to fit in one pie. Is that right? Other than that the recipe sounds amazing.

I think I would probably toss them in at the end so they don't get soggy. Good luck!

This is JUST what I was looking for! I wanted to make this tonight so we could have it for brunch tomorrow (Easter) morning, is keeping the pudding over night with the strawberries in it okay? Or should I keep them out and then toss the strawberries in the morning before I bake this?

I made this earlier this week with blueberries and liked it so much I made ANOTHER one last night with blackberries.

I liked it better with blackberries but also chose to replace the 1 1/2 Tbsp sugar sprinkled on top with 1 Tbsp sugar and 1 Tbsp brown sugar. It offsets the blackberry's tart flavor perfectly!

Thanks for this recipe -- it's quick and easy to make and VERY popular with the guests to whom we served it! We'll be making this again and again...and again. :)
